“My personal favorite: the petite, poker-faced Evie Dolan as Katie the bass guitarist.”
“She’s so rockin”
Evie Dolan is a filmmaker, musician, and actor from New York City. She recently graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in film, where her senior thesis film, You Miss 100% of the Shots You Don't Take, a dark horror-comedy set in the world of beauty pageants, received departmental honors. Her work explores the monstrous feminine, gendered performance, and the uncanny, and draws on the tradition of women filmmakers like Julia Ducournau and Coralie Fargeat.
At Wesleyan, Evie immersed herself in every dimension of filmmaking—writing, directing, editing, and crewing on senior thesis films—while also working as a sound engineer for the university's Sound Cooperative and co-producing and performing in Wesleyan Tonight, the school's late-night comedy variety show. She plays lead guitar and bass in several bands, including Slore, whose debut album was released in 2025. A recording of her Fleetwood Mac cover "The Chain," made at Abbey Road Studios, was shared by Stevie Nicks on her official social media.
Evie originated the role of Katie in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony-nominated School of Rock – the Musical, performing eight shows a week at the Winter Garden Theater as part of the original Broadway cast, a run that followed her establishing the role in the Off-Broadway production at the Gramercy Theatre. During her time on Broadway, she appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, and The View, performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and was featured in a live performance at the American Theater Wing's Tony Awards. She has performed alongside artists including Stevie Nicks, Slash, Sierra Boggess, Norm Lewis, and Brandon Victor Dixon, and has worked with photographer Bruce Weber on campaigns for Moncler and Shinola. She has appeared in projects connected to Andrew Lloyd Webber including the 30th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera, and has performed at venues across New York and at the Cannes Lions Festival.
Evie co-produced Broadway Hits for Haiti, a fundraiser hosted by Ben Stiller benefiting the Zanmi Beni Children's Home in Port-au-Prince, and performed the opening number at the 2020 Ronald McDonald National Gala alongside a cast led by Amy Poehler. She served as teen co-chair of Guitar Mash, performing in interactive concerts alongside artists including Ani DiFranco and Dar Williams.
